Add Rule

  1. Select menu to click on Rule Management
  2. Click on the add rule button to add a new rule
  3. The rule form would open up. Setup an unique name for the rule
  4. The rule can be made active/inactive any time during or after the rule is created
  5. Then select the source parameter of the the specific device on which a rule needs to be applied to 
  6. Now add the condition which must satisfy to trigger the rule.
  7. Select the comparing condition and the comparing value. Once added press add condition to add the condition
  8. Several condition can be added using AND or OR condition
  9. The rule can be used for 3 purpose.
    1. Create Alarm – This will generate an alarm whenever the rule condition is met
    2. Push to external data pipeline – This rule can be used to create pipeline and filter events based on the rule condition
    3. Create Event Action – This will create an actuation at any device specified once rule condition is met
  10. Alarm severity is the severity of the alarm to be generated
  11. Alarm description is the text that would appear when the alarm is generated
  12. Email notification is used to notify user of the alarm. Depending on whom the email must go one configure the email destinations accordingly
  13. If the 3rd option of external event creation is the intent then the target event is to be defined
  14. The time range will define whats the time range when thsi rule will be effective. One can set all day or a specific time range for the rule be applicable
  15. The setup device command will setup what device command is need to be sent to the target device when the rule condition is met
  16. Once all above fields are added one can click on submit button to create the rule
